Scenic Views

On your way to good times and great adventures in New York, remember to look around. Wherever you go in the state—from the white dunes of The Hamptons, to the sky-high peaks of the Adirondacks and the majestic Niagara Falls—you'll be surrounded by scenic beauty.

You might stand on a bluff at a historic estate in the Hudson Valley and take in panoramas that have inspired generations of artists. Go hiking or take a scenic drive to the top of Prospect Mountain for a bird's eye view of jewel-toned Lake George.

New York's state and national parks are some of the best places to indulge your eyes. Peebles Island State Park offers dramatic vistas from cliffside trails overlooking the confluence of the Hudson and Mohawk rivers. See Letchworth State Park's 600-foot-long gorge, and you'll know why it's called the Grand Canyon of the East. Or hike to the crest of Chittenango Falls in Central New York for a picnic by the cascading waters. And a look in almost any direction in the Thousand Islands reveals splendid waterways.

Even in New York City, Mother Nature struts her stuff. Take a stroll in Central Park or the gardens of the Cloisters Museum. Make sure to stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge and take in the view of the city skyline.
