Arsenal, The (Job Sammis House)

Details

Built c1740, as a farm building, it was converted to a residence. At the time of the American Revolution Joy Sammis, a weaver, and his family lived here. Sammis stored guns and ammunition for the Suffolk County militia until the British occupied Huntington beginning in September 1776.
