Hanford Mills Museum operates an authentic water- and steam-powered historic site. Guided tours feature demonstrations of the sawmill, gristmill and woodworking shop.
The museum, which is listed on the National and New York State Registers of Historic Places, is open May 15-October 15 (Wednesdays-Sundays) and also for special events, like the Ice Harvest Festival held the first Saturday in February. Other festivals include the Independence Day Celebration, the Antique Engine Jamboree & Powerfest in September and the Woodsmen's Festival in October. See website for details.
