Heron Hill Winery

Dedicated to excellence in winemaking in the Finger Lakes region since 1977. Heron Hill's mission is to produce cool-climate wines that reflect the Finger Lakes region and pair well with food. Why? Because wines produced in the Finger Lakes with locally grown grapes, have certain characteristics that you won't find in wines anywhere else -  sense of place. Heron Hill is committed to showing upmost respect for customers by giving them their very best products and by educating them about Heron Hill’s long-term goals of environmental balance. Recently in 2019, John and Josephine Ingle, owners of Heron Hill won Grower of the Year by the New York Wine and Grape Foundation for their dedication and commitment to the New York grape industry.

SIGNATURE WINES

In addition to their award-winning Rieslings – they produce at least six styles or more in a given year – Heron Hill is known for its red, white and rosé Eclipse blends. Grapes for their Ingle Vineyards wines are grown on the owners 20+ acres of vineyards on Canandaigua Lake, using sustainable and nature-friendly viticultural practices. Heron Hill iparticipates in the Vine Balance sustainability program and will be one of the first wineries to be certified sustainable through the program. 

WINE TASTINGS

Named one of the "most spectacular tasting rooms in the world," by Travel & Leisure Magazine, this is one part of the experience you won't want to miss. Despite the grand reputation, the atmosphere aims to be part casual, part educational. If this is your first-ever wine tasting or you're a wine connoisseur, Heron Hill's friendly staff caters to your level of knowledge, and you can sample NY craft beers, cider and spirits from local distilleries, too.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND

Plan to slow down a bit and enjoy the views while you are here. You can try samples, or buy a full bottle or a glass from the tasting room and find a spot on the winery's picnic tables or terraces. The gift shop and tasting room are both open year-round.
