The Lehman College Center for the Performing Arts, Inc., a separately-incorporated, 501(c)(3) organization located on the campus of Lehman College in the Bronx, was established in 1980 to provide the underserved community residents of the Bronx, upper-Manhattan, lower-Westchester County, and beyond with access to affordable, culturally-diverse performances by international, national, and local music, dance and theatre artists. These programs entertain, educate, inspire, and reflect the cultural traditions of a diverse regional population. Events are held in the Center’s 2,310-seat Concert Hall, the largest professional venue in the borough. Special audience outreach and ticket discount programs serve young people, senior citizens, and at-risk clients of area social service agencies. The facility is also utilized by local schools, arts groups, professional organizations, businesses and commercial producers, providing additional service to the community.
