Come enjoy the serenity of the Adirondacks in this quaint waterfront cabin. Loon Lake Landing is located 20 miles north of Saranac Lake and 28 miles to LakePlacid/Whiteface Mountain in Franklin County NY . The cabin has three bedrooms and one bath and is located on 2.5 acres. The beautiful waterfront area and private dock provide unobstructed access to Loon Lake . 'The Landing' is one of only a few properties on Loon Lake that has a large beach area. There is a large shallow and sandy area which is perfect for swimming access and launching the boats. The views at Loon Lake Landing go on for miles. Whiteface Mountain and other 'High Peaks,' are just a peek out the door or window! While we offer many of the modern conveniences to which, we have all become accustomed, we hope you choose to instead take advantage of the many awesome (and FREE) activities right outside the doors of the camp. Loon Lake Landing offers a Horseshoe pit, board games, books and DVD's, in addition to many other activities. There is a Samsung HDTV, Direct TV, wireless Internet Access (computer not included.) There is a 2-person canoe, a row boat and a tandem kayak for paddling around Loon Lake. There is a dock for swimming and fishing. Go fishing on Loon Lake for Large Mouth bass, Small Mouth and Northern Pike! There are also places to fish for trout within 10 minutes of the camp. There are thousands of acres of state land a stone's throw away and you can hike up Crusher Mountain in about 45 minutes from the front door. Of course, sometimes nothing beats just sittin' back, breathing the clean clear Adirondack air...just being...while the haunting call of the loon echoes around you. The fire pit by the lake is equipped with Adirondack chairs. Closer to the cabin, is a patio with a big old stone chimney for campfires. Loon Lake is a private lake, so there is not a lot of boat traffic. There is telephone with free long distance. Near by: Saranac Inn Golf and Country Club Saranac Lake and Lake Placid are close by and make for a great day trip. The Wild Center is a natural history museum of the Adirondacks and is located in Tupper Lake which is about an hour from the camp. Macomb Reservation State Park offers a swimming beach, a boat launch site, camper recreation, fishing, hiking, a nature trail, picnic shelter and pavilions, a children's playground, open play areas, recreation programs, campground. John Brown Farm State Historic Site. John Brown was an abolitionist whose attempt to free the slaves cost him his life and the life of others. The park offers group tours, guided tours, hiking, picnicking, re-enactments, scenic views and interpretive signage.
