The Portage Hill Gallery features three rooms of an historic Chautauqua County Greek Revival house filled with top-quality juried art created by regionally and nationally known artists in all media, including paintings, sculpture, ceramics, glass, jewelry, wooden work, and photography. In addition to the fine collection of the work of 100 artists, Portage Hill Gallery is the home of both a clay studio and 2-D studio of Audrey Kay Dowling. Audrey’s one-of-a-kind award-winning clay, painting, and mixed media block print work have been accepted into regional, national, and international shows and are represented in private collections throughout the world. In addition to the one-of-a-kind work, Audrey features her functional clay work at the gallery. This includes many copyrighted original vase forms and ceramic pots for cooking and serving. These pieces are glazed with Audrey’s own glaze formulas, she calls Great Lakes Colors and are based on the nature colors she so enjoys at their Lake Erie summer cottage.
