Staten Island Museum at Snug Harbor

Details

The Staten Island Museum now welcomes visitors in the borough’s Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden. In 1965, museum members saved this historic site from demolition, and now the beautiful building, formerly a dormitory for retired seamen, helps visitors discover the unique offerings of New York City’s southernmost borough via its collection. In addition to the exterior being restored, the building is LEED certified and offers a 21st-century, climate-controlled museum inside of a historical 19th-century landmarked structure.
