The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor

FEATURED
Details

An official Path Through History Site! The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor’s mission is to collect, preserve, and shares the stories of Purple Heart recipients for all conflicts for which the award has been available. The Purple Heart is awarded to members of the American Armed Forces who have been wounded or killed by enemy action. The exhibits take visitors through the Purple Heart Journey, from entering military service and training, to the Day of the Incident, to Care and Treatment through the Road to Recovery. A separate gallery commemorates those who have made the Ultimate Sacrifice. Throughout the museum are interactive kiosks that offer the visitor the opportunity to follow the personal journey of Purple Heart recipients through the use of interviews, letters, diaries and artifacts. Visitors may also view the Roll of Honor, a computerized database of currently enrolled recipients. The Roll of Honor may also be viewed on line at the Hall of Honor website: www.thepurpleheart.com
