2014 AmericadeLake George, N.Y. - The Lake George Area in New York's Adirondacks is home to an impressive lineup of events that draw visitors from around the northeast, the Country and beyond. Recognizing the importance of attracting visitors to major local events and the resulting economic impact, the Warren County Tourism Department is adding a new Premier Event Feature Button to the website VisitLakeGeorge.com. This is in addition to the existing comprehensive year-round events page that includes hundreds of fabulous county-wide events.

Maps enhance bicycle tourism in Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor

Erie Canalway routesWaterford, N.Y. - Cyclists can now see more of the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor using new bicycle tour routes that connect with the cross-state Erie Canalway Trail. The on-road routes, ranging from easy to challenging, take riders through scenic countryside in Orleans, Ontario, Wayne, and Madison counties.

"We've got world class cycling along the 365-mile Erie Canalway Trail and these routes give cyclists additional options for day trips exploring beyond the canal route,"

Holiday Valley Announces $3.7 MM in Improvements

Holiday Valley Ski ResortEllicottville, N.Y. - With the successful conclusion of the 2013-14 winter season, Holiday Valley's President, Dennis Eshbaugh announced the reinvestment of $3.7 million in resort improvements. According to Eshbaugh, "One of the keys to Holiday Valley's success is that we consistently reinvest in our resort. We stay at the forefront of technology, but also keep our guests coming back because they know we work hard to make their time at Holiday Valley memorable and fun."

Headlining the projects is the installation of 54 new HKD Impulse automated snowguns.

Lake Placid, N.Y. - With golf season approaching in the Adirondacks, the Whiteface Club and Resort, on the shores of Lake Placid, has collected more prestigious awards from Golfweek Magazine.

The John Van Kleek-redesigned layout, in consultation with Walter Hagen, is ranked 11th in New York State among Golfweek Magazine's 2014 Best Courses You Can Play. It is also ranked fourth among classic clubs in the state.
