Saturday, February 14, 2015, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Henry A. Wallace Center at the FDR Presidential Library and Home   Hyde Park, N.Y. -- The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will host an afternoon of Presidents Day Weekend events on Saturday, February 14, 2015. The program will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Henry A. Wallace Center at the FDR Presidential Library and Home with a book talk and signing with David L. Holmes author of THE FAITHS OF THE FOUNDING FATHERS. Holmes will sign copies of his book after the talk. From 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Research Room of the FDR Presidential Library, visitors can view a selection of presidential autographs from the Roosevelt Library archives -- many of which are from FDR's personal collection -- on display only once a year. These events are free and open to the general public.

Colavita and Fine Cooking Announce Farm to Fork Fondo

The mass-participation cycling ride will be held June 28, 2015, at Cedar Lakes Estate in Orange County, New York, with 500 participants expected. The culinary-focused and community-driven athletic event will highlight the agriculture in the region with catered meals and mid-ride aid stations made from Colavita Italian specialty products, Fine Cooking Magazine recipes, and locally-sourced ingredients.

So grab your warm jacket, scarf, gloves, and boots and see why a day or weekend in Orange County creates wonderful winter memories.

Sledding Party at Historic Mansion

Clermont State Historic SiteGermantown, N.Y. - Clermont State Historic Site is hosting its annual sledding party from 12-3 pm on Sunday, January 25th, with a "No Snow Date" of Sunday, February 8th. This is the one day each year when the historic grounds are opened to sledding. Guests can warm up with hot chocolate and homemade treats by the fire. A great day for families! Free admission, safety sleds only (no metal runners).

Staatsburgh State Historic Site is preparing for its festive Gilded Age Christmas, featuring sumptuous decorations throughout the mansion and special children’s programs from late November through New Year’s Eve. Staatsburg, N.Y. - The halls are being decked! Staatsburgh State Historic Site is preparing for its festive Gilded Age Christmas, featuring sumptuous decorations throughout the mansion and special children's programs from late November through New Year's Eve. The site opens for the holiday season on Friday, November 28, and offers public hours Thursday through Sunday, from Noon to 4pm (closed Christmas Day) through December 31.  Special evening hours are from 6pm to 8pm on Friday December 12, and additional days for visiting the mansion include Noon to 4pm on Monday, December 29 through Wednesday, December 31.

Kites Will Fly at Washington’s Headquarters during the Hudson River Ramble September 20th

Kites Over the HudsonNewburgh, N.Y. - Soaring, swirling, kites of all kinds will bob and weave as they dance in the wind at Washington's Headquarters State Historic Site during Kites Over the Hudson, on Saturday, September 20th, 2 PM to 4 PM.

Free kites will be given to the first 150 children 15 and under during this Hudson River Ramble event. Prizes will be awarded in various kite categories, and refreshments will be served to all who attend. And there will be a Kite Hospital, staffed by members of Chapter 1782 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, to repair most kite catastrophes!

Kingston, N.Y. - On Saturday, November 29, 2014, the famed Sinterklaas Celebration that has drawn thousands to Rhinebeck once again goes bi-coastal. For the fourth year, Kingston will celebrate a little bit of its Dutch heritage and reprise its starring role as Spain in the story of Sinterklaas' arrival in the Hudson Valley. A festive procession of giant puppets, stars, fish, flags, this year's honored animal (the Hummingbird) and the great Hudson River itself will travel down Broadway to bring the beloved holiday story to life. Come to the historic Rondout District in Kingston to discover this enchanting blend of tradition and modern day merriment.
