Schweinfurth Summer CampAuburn, NY (April 18, 2024) – Schweinfurth Art Center has opened registration for its eight half-day sessions of Summer Art Camp, which run in July and August.

Camps are scheduled for morning or afternoon and are organized by age group. Each week has a different topic and instructor. Camps usually fill quickly, so people are encouraged to sign up early on our website, https://schweinfurthartcenter.org/youth-classes/

A Benefit Concert for Spa Little Theater on August 25

Saratoga Springs, NY (April 18, 2024) – Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) announces that it will present Beethoven For Three featuring Emanuel Ax, Leonidas Kavakos, and Yo-Yo Ma with special guest Antoine Tamestit on August 25 at 3 p.m. in the 500-seat Spa Little Theater. Proceeds from the performance will go toward establishing a programming fund for the Theater, SPAC’s year-round performance home.

(April 16, 2024) –– The Arthur Zankel Music Center at Skidmore College will welcome legendary guitarist Marc Ribot for a live accompaniment to Charlie Chaplin’s 1921 silent film “The Kid” at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28. Ribot’s delicate and, at times, haunting solo guitar score contemporizes Chaplin’s work as a relevant story about our era’s economic and social conditions. Ribot will also perform a short solo set before the film.

Rochester, N.Y., April 11, 2024—To kick off the eighth annual Nitrate Picture Show, the George Eastman Museum will screen a unique tinted nitrate print of D.W. Griffith’s silent masterpiece Intolerance (1916) on Thursday, May 30 at 6:30 p.m. The Nitrate Picture Show is the first festival in the world entirely dedicated to screening original nitrate prints from the 1910s to the 1950s, from silent cinema to Technicolor spectacles. The full program of film titles being shown this year will be announced at a press conference at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 30 at the Dryden Theatre.
