I Love NY Encourages Travelers to Discover What Is New Throughout New York State for Spring & Summer

ALBANY, NY (May 23, 2016) - A sense of awakening and freshness fills the air as spring takes hold of the Empire State. It's a great time to explore some of the exciting new things to do and see across New York.

To help chart the way, I LOVE NEW YORK has checked in with all 11 vacation regions and compiled a sampling of some of the Empire State's newest ways for locals, and visitors, to play, stay and have fun, from curated cider tastings to the highly-interactive and nostalgic Toy Halls of Fame.

Gov. Cuomo Announces $42 Million Project to Enhance Access to Niagara Falls Waterfront

Governor launches competition encouraging New Yorkers to propose a new name for the Robert Moses Parkway

(March 22, 2016) Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that New York State will replace an underutilized two-mile stretch of the Robert Moses Parkway North in Niagara Falls with open space, scenic overlooks and recreational trails to make the waterfront more accessible to residents, tourists and visitors alike. The project marks the largest expansion of green space since the Niagara Reservation was designed in 1885, and will link the Niagara River Gorge and Falls into a single destination to allow easier access to the water's edge.

Governor Cuomo Announces 2016 Bus from New York City to Ski Areas Kicks Off January 22

Albany, NY (November 30, 2015) - Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that the I LOVE NEW YORK Winter Ski Bus will begin weekly trips from New York City to upstate ski areas on January 22. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the bus will offer downstate skiers and riders day trips to Hunter, Plattekill and Belleayre mountains. Additionally, I LOVE NEW YORK has partnered with popular outfitter REI to further spread the word about the outdoor adventures that the State has to offer.

Albany, N.Y. (September 14, 2015) -- Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced a co-branding partnership between Empire State Development's Division of Tourism/ I LOVE NEW YORK and Delta Air Lines. The new co-branded logo was unveiled outside the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday, September 10, as Delta rang the closing bell.

"When people take the time to experience New York, they fall in love and keep coming back - and that means more tourism and economic activity for our state," Governor Cuomo said. "This partnership will bring the I LOVE NY brand to new heights, and I am proud that our administration is partnering with Delta Air Lines to promote all that the Empire State has to offer."

Albany, N.Y. (July 2) - Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the total economic impact of New York State's tourism industry in 2014 reached an all-time high of $100.1 billion. Historic investments in the tourism industry have generated job growth and an increase in visitors to New York, making it the most visited state by overseas travelers for the 14th year in a row. The Governor also highlighted the 2015 summer ad campaign featuring vacation destinations and attractions from all regions of the state.

The Division also announced the launch of a new television ad, designed to further grow the State's tourism industry. Tupper Lake is All Over New York City

Wild Center in NYCTupper Lake, N.Y. - This month millions of commuters are getting a taste of Tupper Lake and the Adirondacks, courtesy of a brand new ad now running on subways, buses and signs in and around New York City. The ad features an image from the Raquette River taken by Wild Center board member, Rick Godin, a few years ago.

Hillarie Logan-Dechene, the Center's Director of Philanthropy, recently attended the Governor's Tourism Summit and was approached by an I LOVE NEW YORK staff member who wanted to include the Center in their ‘Get Outta Town' campaign. I LOVE NEW YORK, the state tourism bureau, launched the campaign last year, encouraging those in New York City to explore other areas of the state.
