Hickory Offers $30 Lift Ticket for Other Mountains' Season Passholders on Sunday, March 1st

HickoryWarrensburg, N.Y. - In celebration of being 100% open on a deep 28" base of all natural snow, Hickory Ski Center is offering a special $30 lift ticket rate this Sunday, March 1st to 2014-2015 season passholders from other ski resorts.

2014-2015 season passholders from any ski resort are invited to come experience Hickory. Skiers and snowboarders must simply present their valid season pass at the ticket window to receive the $30 all day lift ticket. To inject even more fun into the day, the resort will be keeping a tally of which resort has the most passholders visit Hickory on Sunday. At 2 pm, Hickory will announce the winning resort and each passholder present from the victorious resort will receive a voucher for one single day lift ticket good for the rest of the 2014-2015 season!

Spring Events at Holiday Valley: Sunshine and Soft Snow Leads to Zany Fun!

More than 11 feet of snow has already fallen this winter and that has been supplemented by excellent conditions for snowmaking and good, consistent cold temperatures. Soon the weather will be milder with sunshine likely and Holiday Valley has several events planned to entertain skiers, riders and spectators through the spring ski season right through - and beyond - closing day of April 5th.

Winona Forest TourathonMannsville, N.Y. - It's been a long cold winter so far, but conditions are the best we have had in the last 10 years for this weekend's event! There's plenty happening in snow sports in Winona and a record number of people are taking part. Considered a premiere event in upstate NY, the 35th Winona Forest Tourathon, which takes place this Saturday, is an annual event but only one of many that are being held in Winona Forest this season.

Sledding Party at Historic Mansion

Clermont State Historic SiteGermantown, N.Y. - Clermont State Historic Site is hosting its annual sledding party from 12-3 pm on Sunday, January 25th, with a "No Snow Date" of Sunday, February 8th. This is the one day each year when the historic grounds are opened to sledding. Guests can warm up with hot chocolate and homemade treats by the fire. A great day for families! Free admission, safety sleds only (no metal runners).

Winter Fun Abounds in the Lake George Area of New York’s Adirondacks

Lake George, N.Y. - Temperatures are plummeting, and the snow has started to fall, which means it's time to embrace winter in the Lake George Area of New York's Adirondacks - on the slopes and off!

If downhill skiing is your thing, head to Gore Mountain in North Creek, recently named a "Top 10 Mountain" by SKI Magazine for its value, lifts, scenery and terrain variety. Add the new "Adirondack Express II" high-speed quad lift and you've got plenty of reasons to visit Gore this winter.

Bristol Mountain Opening Today

Bristol MountainCanandaigua, N.Y. - Mother Nature has made herself known over the past week and Bristol Mountain has taken advantage of the earlier than normal frigid temperatures to get a jump on snowmaking operations. With one of the earliest start dates in their history, Bristol Mountain will kick off their 51st season today, Thursday, November 20th. The earliest opening date on record was November 9, 1991. Last year the season began on November 26th and ran for 134 days. "We couldn't be happier", says spokesperson, Drew Broderick. "Our snowmaking team has been working very since last Friday night when they started up the snowguns. The very low temperatures have been perfect for snowmaking."
