The Olympic Speed Skating Oval will host The Adirondack Classic Chevy Club and Lake Placid Ski Club’s 26th Annual Olympic Car Show & Parade on Saturday August 30th and Sunday, August 31st in Lake Placid, NYWith over 130 cars pre-registered organizer Ashleah Mayberry says, ”The event has come a long way from the first show 26 years ago held in the pouring rain with only eight cars.” On Saturday, August 30th the annual celebration kicks off with a Poker Run throughout Essex, Clinton, and Franklin County’s with all participants following a pre-determined map of destinations, each in search of the best poker hand.Registration is $10 per car, pre-registration is required. Cash Prizes will be awarded to the winner.On Sunday, August 31 at 11:45am over 130 cars will parade through downtown Lake Placid on Main Street on their way to the Olympic Oval.Several thousand people are expected to line the street to cheer on the various antique cars, muscle cars and street rods passing by. Pre-registration is required to take part in the parade. Registration is $15 and there will be no registration at the gate the day of the event. Parade check in is from 9 – 11:30am at Crestview Plaza. You may register your car up until August 29th at .Following the parade the cars will pull into the Olympic Speed Skating Oval where the cars will be on display for spectators viewing until the awards ceremony at 4:00pm. Car show plaques will be given to the top twenty five cars selected by the Lake Placid Ski Club.Olympic Medals will be awarded to the top three cars in each of the 48 classes as selected by votes from a committee of car show participants.  Three cash awards will be given to the best of show as selected by the spectators.  There will be plenty of alternate attractions to entertain the whole family!Again this year we have the opportunity to offer everyone the chance to WIN SOME CASH & PRIZES!! Parties Unlimited is supplying their CASH CUBE, DJ Service, and Entertainment. There will also be a BBQ provided by the Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department.
