Saturdays at Strong just got bigger and better! We’re now open Saturdays (as well as our usual Friday nights) until 8:00 p.m.
To celebrate, the museum has launched Saturday Night Family Play Dates, a series of evening events for kids and families presented the first Saturday of each month from from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., March through June. Bring the entire family and enjoy nightly story readings and themed activities. All of the exhibits (as well as the Food Court and museum shops) are open late EVERY Friday and Saturday evening throughout the year.
March 7: Saturday Night Family Play Date—Pajamarama.
Dress the kids in their PJs and get ready for a dreamy evening of performances, activities, and bedtime stories. Stages Youth Theatre performs scenes from "Once Upon a Mattress" (the Broadway musical adaption of The Princess and the Pea) at 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. Create a paper frog and collect an autograph from the prince or princess. Listen to readings of The Princess and the Pea and other fantasy stories at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m.
April 4: Saturday Night Family Play Date—Berenstain Bear Celebration
Have a honey of an evening celebrating the first anniversary of the museum’s original exhibit, The Berenstain Bears: Down a Sunny Dirt Road. Meet one of the Berenstain Bears "in person," play party games, and dance to some beary delightful music. Hear Berenstain Bear stories at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m.
May 2: Saturday Night Family Play Date—Butterfly Bonanza
Let your imagination take flight. Say hello to Marti the Monarch, Strong’s butterfly mascot, create butterfly crafts, and listen to The Very Hungry Caterpillar and other buggy stories at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m.
June 6: Saturday Night Family Play Date—Summer Splash!
Get ready for summer and dive into some fun at Strong! Join a Saturday evening "beach" party featuring beach-themed crafts and activities. Hear sunny stories at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m.
All Saturday Night Family Play Dates are included with general museum admission fees.
