belleayrelogo.jpgHighmount, N.Y.  - The "snowicane" that paralyzed the Northeast for nearly a week has set Belleayre up to be skiing well into 2010. After ending February with nearly eight feet of natural snowfall over five days Belleayre is primed for a monumental March. With moderate temps, longer days, fun events and tons of snow there is nothing like spring skiing. Saturday, March 6 is the Belleayre Mogul Mash sponsored by Jimmy's Belleayre Ski Shop. This is a fun all-ages event for skiers and riders to show their talent in the lower Wanatuska bumps. Scores are based on ability to ski the bumps with rhythm, ability to stay in the fall line with the fewest deviations and overall technical style. Pre-register this week at Overlook Guest Services. The cost is $10 and includes T-shirt to first 125 competitors. Registration will also be available on the day of the event as well. Everyone is a winner at this popular annual competition. Belleayre's next Potter Brothers Flex Day is Sunday, March 7. Customers can purchase a coupon for $23.95 at any Potter Brothers location and redeem it at the mountain for a lift ticket. And Belleayre is hosting a Potter Brothers Flex Day Slopestyle Terrain Park Jam the same day. For just $10, skiers and riders are encouraged to come on out and show off their slopestyle in Belleayre's Area 51 Terrain Park with all sorts of great prizes at stake. Throw down that backside switch 720 you've been working on and win new gear at this open jam format event. Event registration is from 8am-10am in Overlook Lodge with the Park Jam running from 11am-2pm. Tunes in the park will be provided by DJ Heat who has been rocking the mountain all year. Belleayre wants to reach a goal of 10,000 skiers a week for the month of March. Customers can earn free lift tickets for skiing Belleayre in March with the 10-10-10-10 promotion. Help Belleayre reach the goal of 500 people a day midweek, and 2500 people a day on the weekends, and the first 25 people to buy tickets each day will get a free return lift ticket. Belleayre Superintendant Tony Lanza commented "Find out why Belleayre is the most affordable place to ski and ride. $20/$10 Wednesdays and $25 Customer Appreciation Fridays are in effect for the rest of the season. Add in our regularly scheduled Potter Brothers Flex Sundays and you will learn what the Belleayre buzz is all about." March is the month for special events at Belleayre, including the Mogul Mash, Reggae-fest weekend, a tailgate cookout competition with a season passes on the line for the winner, the Ski Patrol BBQ, the Cardboard Classic, the Dummy race, the Pine Hill Arms Triathlon and much more.
