saratoga-polo.jpgWHAT:          Saratoga Polo Association Launches 112th Season WHERE:        Historic Whitney Field, Bloomfield and Denton roads, Saratoga (five minutes from downtown Saratoga Springs). WHEN:          Thursday, July 1st  from 6-9 pm.. Live polo demonstration at 6:30 p.m., with "the voice of Saratoga Polo," announcer Bob Bullock. Q & A session will follow with Uneku Saliu Atawodi, Saratoga Polo's new assistant polo manager. DETAILS:     Uneku joins Saratoga Polo's 2010 season as a true international ambassador for women's polo. The only Nigerian female polo player, and one of only a few Black female polo players on the worldwide polo circuit, Uneku has played tournaments around the globe. In addition to her day-to-day responsibilities, Uneku is providing introductory polo lessons at Saratoga Polo for both children and adults. ABOUT THE 2010 SEASON OPENER: The 2010 Polo Season opens Friday July 9th with a special Fan Appreciation Match, the first match in the Saratoga Cup Series that runs through July 25th.  The opening match welcomes spectators for a special admission price of just $10 a carload! (Regular general admission price is $25 per carload). Gates open at 4 pm. Match starts at 5:30 pm.



Season runs from July 9th - Labor Day Polo matches are played on the historic Whitney Field or on adjacent fields, every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday evenings. Gates open at 4:00 pm. Matches begin at 5:30 pm. Tickets are available at the gate the day of a match, at the Pink Paddock boutique 358 Broadway, and at Saratoga Saddlery, 460 Broadway, both in downtown Saratoga Springs. Enjoy the excitement of polo from an air-conditioned Clubhouse $25 per person, or pull your car up field-side to the General Admission lawn at $25 per carload.
