“Harvesting the Grapes” by Loretta LepkowskiA Community Event for Land Conservation Lowville, N.Y. - "The vineyard is a beautiful place, and I am looking forward to painting that gorgeous view - all while enjoying the event's festivities with friends and family," expressed local artist, Loretta Lepkowski. Loretta is just one of the 20 premier artists donating their talent and time to the 4th Annual Tug Hill Plein Air Paint Out. The Paint Out is organized by regional non-profit, Tug Hill Tomorrow Land Trust.     This community event, set for Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Tug Hill Vineyards in Lowville, features a full day of fun! Artists will begin painting "en plein air" (or outside) that morning. While artists paint throughout the vineyard, the public is invited to be the special guest - talking to each artist and asking them questions as they paint. "This is a unique way to engage the community in the arts; while making the important connection between art, the community, and the natural beauty of the region," explained Linda Garrett, Tug Hill Tomorrow Land Trust, Executive Director, "Our artists are so talented - we're so grateful for their generosity. This event has become the perfect way to showcase these special outdoors places."  There is something for everyone at this event! In addition to beautiful art - the Paint Out will also feature great wine and food. Tug Hill Vineyards will be serving their gourmet Sunday brunch from 10am - 1pm; the cost of the brunch is $16.50/person. Following the brunch, the wine tasting will feature wineries from throughout New York State. The wine tasting is from 12pm - 3pm, and is free and open to the public. Finally, a Benefit Art Auction will be held at 2pm. Art for sale at the auction will include paintings created that day, as well as pieces donated prior to the event. All pieces feature special places within the Tug Hill region. Proceeds from the benefit auction will go directly toward new community programs for local kids and their families, as well as land protection programs to help local landowners conserve their land.
