Tannersville, N.Y. - On Saturday July 21st and July 28th, everyone is invited to the Mountain Top Arboretum in Tannersville, NY for two workshops sure to pique culinary interests. The first is "Bee Talk" with Will Curley, the resident beekeeper at the Arboretum. The second is a Mushroom Workshop that includes a hunt for edible and medicinal mushrooms. The Bee Talk with beekeeper Will Curley on Saturday, July 21st is an opportunity to learn all about bees, including how to house the bees, methods for getting hives to flourish, and the best ways to harvest your fresh honey. This free event allows anyone with a penchant for sweet treats to better understand the honey-making process. Curley will lead a lecture, and then will answer questions that arise. Mushroom master John Wheeler will hold a Mushroom Workshop on Saturday, July 28th. Wheeler will lead a hunt through the Arboretum, to locate and identify mushrooms that can be used for cooking and medicine. The $5 program fee includes samples of Wheeler's best mushroom recipes. About the Mountain Top Arboretum The Mountain Top Arboretum offers the public an opportunity to see and explore our 179 acres of beautiful forest, meadow, and marsh.  Our Arboretum is located in a beautiful mountain setting within the Catskill state park, with a major focus on trees-not simply for themselves but for how they serve us ecologically.  Coursed by streams, it is a starting point of the New York City watershed.  Our mission is to engage and educate the public in our ecological and physical context.
