heritage-weekend.jpgWHAT:        New York Heritage Weekend will showcase the Empire State to residents and visitors alike and will help kick off the summer tourism season. With the cooperation of federal, state and private organizations, and in celebration of National Preservation Month, New York Heritage Weekend will highlight special events at heritage and cultural destinations throughout New York State. There are over 150 events scheduled throughout New York State. Residents of the Capital Region can enjoy many concerts, lectures, events, exhibits, and more. Below are the events scheduled for Albany: Last year Heritage Weekend featured 166 events hosted by 143 organizations throughout New York. Heritage Weekend generated an estimated $1.6 million last year.  New York State Heritage Weekend 2012 is presented by the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area, in partnership with the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor, the National Park Service, I Love New York, and the New York State Office of Recreation and Historic Preservation.
