The winners were announced in the May issue of the publication, as well as the online "We thank the readers of Capital Region Living Magazine for the honors they have bestowed on us," said Ed Weibrecht. He and wife Lisa Weibrecht own Lake Placid's only AAA Four Diamond lodging and dining establishment. "These awards are a reflection on the care and effort each of our employees puts forth to give our guests a special experience." In the category of Best Romantic Getaway, the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz was runner-up to the Mirror Lake Inn. Second place in Best Adirondack Inn went to Friends Lake Inn in Chestertown, while the Mirror Lake Inn was deadlocked for the gold medal in Best Bed and Breakfast / Inn with Union Gables in Saratoga.
