orda-black-and-white.jpgLake Placid, N.Y. --- Below is a rundown of many of the events on ORDA's winter 2014 events' calendar for your planning purposes. Dates and schedules are subject to change. March 10-15 - Lake Placid, N.Y. and Wilmington, N.Y. will play host to the 2014 United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) National ChampionshipTM. The five-day long event brings together athletes from across all four disciplines of alpine Skiing, cross-country skiing, freestyle skiing and snowboarding as they convene in the region for competitions that will determine the top collegiate teams across the nation. Media Credential Request Form Attached March 20-22 - ECAC Men's Hockey Championship Tournament.  The ECAC Hockey championships return for the first time to Lake Placid since 2002. The winner of this tournament receives an automatic bid to play in the NCAA championship tournament.  Last season, ECAC schools Yale and Quinnipiac squared off in the national title game, with the Bulldogs coming away with their first national crown.  The ECAC Men's Hockey championship tournament will be played on the famed Herb Brooks Arena 1980 Rink. About ORDA Established in 1982, the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) was created by the State of New York to manage the facilities used during the 1980 Olympic Winter Games at Lake Placid. ORDA operates Whiteface, Belleayre and Gore Mountain ski areas; the Olympic Sports Complex at Mt. Van Hoevenberg; the Olympic speedskating oval, Olympic jumping complex and Olympic arena.
