haunted-history-trail.jpgOwego, N.Y. - The tourism promotion agencies of 20 counties across New York have banded together to promote their haunted tourism attractions to thrill-seeking visitors. This nearly 400-mile trail of year-round ghostly adventures is detailed online at http://www.HauntedHistoryTrail.com, as well as in a new trail map brochure. If you've ever wondered where you can investigate ghostly activity, or overnight in a haunted inn, this is the brochure for you. The printed trail map highlights haunted locations in Greater Niagara, Finger Lakes, Central New York, Capital/Saratoga, The Catskills, Hudson Valley, and the 1000 Islands-Seaway Regions. The web site provides visitors with an overview of each area along with their haunted attractions, their most popular attractions and events, as well as eerie audio tours that you can listen to online or by phone. "Interest in the paranormal is increasing and those who have this interest are eager to explore new areas" said Stella Reschke, tourism director Tioga County. "Research has shown that ghost enthusiasts are looking for paranormal travel experiences that they can have year-round for single and multi-day trips" Reschke said. Included on the trail from Tioga County are haunted experiences at the Parkview Restaurant, the Calaboose Grille, Zombie Land at Turkey Trot Acres, and the Zombie Festival in October.
