Free Admission For Former and Active Members of the Military and Active First Responders in Honor of National Military Appreciation Week on July 7
ALBANY, NY (July 6, 2016) - I LOVE NEW YORK today announced a partnership with the 2016 PGA Web.com LECOM Health Challenge, which will take place Thursday, July 7 through Sunday, July 10 at Peek'n Peak Resort in Clymer, Chautauqua County.

"The last time that the PGA tournament took place in Chautauqua, it was 2007. It is great to have these young professionals back in Western NY. We look forward to tournament play this week and the PGA's return to New York State for the next three years."
The 2016 LECOM Health Challenge Tournament will be televised on The Golf Channel:
• Thursday, July 7: 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. EST
• Friday, July 8: 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. EST
• Saturday, July 9: 3 - 5 p.m. EST
• Sunday, July 10: 3 - 5 p.m. EST
The Golf Channel will air all four rounds of tournament play in the United States and in 192 other countries across the globe, with the potential to reach 93 million households.
In honor of National Military Appreciation Week, former and active members of the military, and active first responders and their spouses, will receive free admission on Thursday, July 7 to the tournament and passes to the Merit Industries Military and First Responders Appreciation Tent overlooking the 18th fairway. The Merit Industries Military Appreciation tent, courtesy of Erie, Pennsylvania-based Merit Industries, will include complimentary food and beverage service from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tournament play begins at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 7. Proceeds from ticket sales Thursday through Saturday will benefit the United Way of Northern and Southern Chautauqua County and Sunday's ticket sales will support Mikey's Way - a foundation dedicated to providing free electronic devices to hospitalized children to strengthen their connection with the outside world and serve as a much-needed distraction from long-term cancer treatments.
The Web.com Tour is "The Path" to the PGA TOUR. Since the Tour's inception in 1990, it has graduated 356 golfers to the PGA TOUR, with alumni winning 414 TOUR titles, including Johnson's Open Championship and Jason Day's win at the RBC Canadian Open on Sunday.
The Web.com Tour previously conducted tournaments at Peek'n Peak Resort from 2002-07. Current PGA TOUR champions who competed at Peek'n Peak during their Web.com Tour careers include Open Champion Zach Johnson, FedExCup champions Brandt Snedeker and Bill Haas, two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson, and PGA Championship winner Jason Dufner.
The Web.com Tour is expected to have a direct economic impact of $5-6 million and indirect spending of $2-3 million.

The LECOM Health Challenge is a Web.com Tour event hosted at Peek'n Peak's "Upper Course" July 4-10, 2016, with a similar timeframe anticipated for the 2017-19 tournaments. A weeklong schedule of events will include a Pro-Am on Wednesday, July 6, followed by four official rounds of tournament competition July 7-10, with a tournament purse of $600,000. With LECOM Health (Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine) serving as title sponsor and the Chautauqua Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) acting as the host organization, proceeds from the tournament will benefit the LECOM Student Scholarship Fund, as well as Mikey's Way Foundation, the United Way, Jamestown Community College Foundation, The First Tee of Western New York, among others.
