Nestled between the Shawangunk (pronounced Shoon-gunk) Mountains the majestic Hudson River, the eighty-mile-long Shawangunk Wine Trail boasts a unique combination of fine wineries. The Trails eleven wineries winds through a spectacular landscape and begins 60 miles north of New York City. Four times a year the Trail hosts special events. Decembers event takes place on three weekends in December the 5th and 6th; 12th and 13th; and 19th and 2th and is titled Wreath Fineries At The Wineries. Participants receive one handmade grapevine wreath and two souvenir etched wine glass at their staring winery and then travel along the Wine Trail. Then, at each of the wineries receive one beautiful ornament to decorate your wreath along with tastings of special holiday foods and wines. This is a self guided tour. Be sure to book early, these packages sell out quickly! Once youve had your fill of wine, return to the hotel for a relaxing dip in the Jacuzzi where the massaging spa jets will take you away to another planet! From New York State Thruway I-87 North and South, take Exit 16, Harriman. Pay toll and take the first exit on the right after toll towards Central Valley Rt. 32, Harriman Rt. 17. At the end of the exit ramp at light make a left. Proceed to the second traffic light and make a left into Woodbury Centre. Follow service road around the plaza - hotel is located behind Kohl's.
