Credit Union Classic presented by Wegmans Announces Tournament Dates, Updates, and Schedule of Events

Syracuse, New York  -  March 7, 2013 - Organizers for the LPGA Symetra Tour's Credit Union Classic presented by Wegmans announced plans for this year's week-long tournament at a Press Conference that was held at the Genesee Grande Hotel in Syracuse on Thursday morning.

The 2013 Credit Union Classic presented by Wegmans (which will be celebrating its 18th consecutive year as a Symetra - formerly FUTURES - Tour event in Syracuse) will be held during the week of July 22-28 at Drumlins Country Club's East Course and will feature a full-field of 140+ american and international tour professionals.

The Credit Union Classic presented by Wegmans is a world-class professional golf tournament that is the third longest running event on the Symetra Tour "Road to the LPGA" and is the largest professional sporting event in Syracuse.

Empower Federal Credit Union, The Summit Federal Credit Union, and SEFCU are once again partnering with Wegmans as the founding sponsors for this tournament that invests in the young people of Syracuse through the Classic's support of the primary beneficiary of the tournament - The First Tee of Syracuse.  The tournament has raised in excess of $500,000 for charities since its inception.

Symetra Tour golf professionals, Kendall Dye and Cara Freeman, explained the importance of the tour to the rising stars of women's professional golf, and talked about their experiences in Syracuse.  "All of us on Tour really look forward to coming to Syracuse," said Dye.  Freeman stated: "We love the golf course and the way everyone in Syracuse embraces us during the week of the event."

Each year this Tour event provides a significant economic impact to the community of over $350,000, and with the real-time scoring provided by, golf fans from 70 different countries worldwide will be able to watch the Tour event on-line.
