At this point, Tough Mudder Western New York is no longer an event, it’s a tradition. Head over to Andover, New York on August 1st to watch or join in on what could arguably be the nation’s messiest Tough Mudder course. With seven ponds, dense woodlands and countless mud bogs and sloppy swamps, one thing’s for sure – you’ll be covered by the end of it.

 

Head over to the Catskills to watch professional and amateur cyclists take on Windham Mountain in the amateur races during the Windham World Cup. Get your adrenaline pumping as you watch the cyclists take on treacherous courses through streams and forests and down steep hills. Music, food and vendors will keep you satiated while you watch!

A Weekend Fair-y Tale

If you do know what that means, you should already have tickets. The one-of-a-kind fair takes place at Tuxedo Park in the Hudson Valley. Enjoy costumes characters, dances, strolling minstrels and storytellers alike!

Check out the Great New York State Fair for one of the oldest and largest state fairs in the U.S.! Eat your weight in fried foods served on sticks and indulge in traditional fair favorites like agricultural displays and livestock demonstrations. Make sure to hit the Ferris Wheel at sunset! With musical performances from Snoop Dogg and Meghan Trainor, you’ll never want to leave!

 

The Dutchess County Fair in Rhineback has been alive and well for over a century. Over 140 acres of finely manicured gardens and grass create a picturesque setting for thousands of farm animals, horticultural displays and agricultural exhibits. Join the nearly half a million other patrons in enjoying the beautiful fairgrounds and carnival from August 25 through August 30! You can even take the I Love NY bus from NYC to enjoy!

Get Festive

Taste some of New York’s most delicious varietals while you jive to live jazz at the CNY Wine & Jazz Festival in Wolcott. It’s the perfect summer’s day you’ll never forget!

Grab the whole family and head on over to the Adirondack Folk School Festival & Bountiful Bowl Benefit. A true celebration of the arts, craft and cultures of the Adirondacks, the festival hosts activities for those of all ages including live music, children’s activities and arts and crafts exhibits.

 

Get down and dirty at the Brantling Bluegrass Festival in Sodus, New York! Enjoy three jam-packed days of regional, national and local bands. If you want to go all out, grab a camping pass and pitch tent right next to the festival grounds. What a perfect way to cap off the summer!

Get jazzy at the New York’s premier jazz festival in the Hudson Valley. The Hudson Valley Jazz Fest offers four days of jazz from Grammy Award Winning and local artists including Chester, Kingston, Warwick and more. There’s no way you can miss this!
