2024 Solar Eclipse Festival

Save the Date! Monday, April 8, 2024 12:00 – 4:00 PM MOST East Lawn (museum closed) Free glasses while supplies last! Tabling activities from MOST and partners like TACNY, OCM BOCES, Maker Faire Syracuse, and more Food trucks Outdoor restrooms Join us at the MOST to watch this amazing sight! Because Syracuse falls in the path of totality, on April 8, 2024, we will experience complete darkness for several minutes, beginning around 3:22 PM. This awe-inspiring event is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to come together as we encourage wonder, celebrate community, and educate people of all ages about astronomy and space science. The next total eclipse in New York State will not take place until 2079. Accessible Features:

  • Trolley Lot has handicap parking; route from the parking lot to the festival is paved and flat.
  • Entire area is ADA accessible. The parking lot is less than 100 yards away.
  • Wheelchair accessible portable restroom on site.
  • Sensory friendly area, including a booth with sensory friendly resources and sensory friendly kits (headphones, fidget toys, and more). There will be a tactile model area for people with visual impairment. There is no formal presentation or speaking so there is no ASL interpretation. There is limited seating but individuals are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs.
