Details

In 1972 the town of Vestal saved the local abandoned Gothic style DL&W train depot and moved it across town to preserve its charm and history. Four years later, 1976, our railroad depot became a community museum. We've chosen artifacts this summer that tell snippets of our town's history and encourage visitors to reminisce. The exhibit spans from locally found Native American projectile points, a 1909 Edwardian Graduation gown, a popular local Roller Rink sign, models of landmarks and more. Visitors will enjoy our passenger room brimming railroad memorabilia. Our authentic stationmaster’s office is filled with our latest rotating exhibit. Lastly, our baggage room contains more local history and a kid-friendly wooden train set. Wednesdays and Saturdays our local Farmer’s Market is in full swing in our adjoining lot.

Admission is always free.
