"A Great Day in Harlem" attracts over 45,000 people throughout the day to Ulysses S. Grant National Memorial Park. The day consists of four segments, beginning with an International Cultural Showcase, Artz, Rootz & Rhythm which salutes music and dance. The next segment is the Tri-State Gospel Showcase, a regional gospel caravan. The third segment features the very popular urban Fashion Fusion Showcase that emphasizes HARLEM WEEK's 2018 Theme: "Women Transforming Our World: Past, Present, & Future." This portion highlights the very best in Afro American, Afro Cuban, Caribbean and Latin American fashion. Eclectic models move, prance, strut and profile an array of international fashions to the thousands gathered. Following the fashion segment it's "Showtime"! "A Concert Under the Stars" will this year feature musical tributes to Jazz great Sarah Vaughn, R&B great Patti LaBelle and Gospel great Mahalia Jackson. Performing artists who are luminaries in the fields of Jazz, R&B and Gospel will present a Harlem musical salute to the legends. Thousands of attendees dance and sing through this extraordinary concert produced in collaboration with WBLS-FM(R&B), WLIB-AM(Gospel) and HOT 97(Latin). The entire day showcases international vendors and exhibitors, promoting art, culture, education, local foods from New York and international foods from around the world.
