See the partial annular eclipse at New York State’s First County Forest! Discover the science of solar eclipses, make a pinhole viewer and other take-home crafts. 1 pair eclipse glasses will be given to each participant. All ages welcome. Food and drinks not available, carry-in carry-out park. An Annular Eclipse occurs when the Moon obscures all but an outer ring of the Sun. For this reason, glasses must always be worn for viewing, even in areas that are in the direct path. In our area: Begins at 11:58 am, Ends at 2:27 pm (2 hr 29 min) Maximum at 1:12 pm Cannot remove eye protection at any point The moon will partially cover the sun
