Archtober/ENGAGE: Deep Listening for Artists and Architects

Details

Flushing Town Hall (circa 1862) is excited to partner with Archtober, New York City’s Architecture and Design Month, the annual festival of architecture activities, programs, and exhibitions taking place during the month of October, and with AIA Queens and Queens Foundation for Architecture! Artists and architects are welcome to join us in a workshop involving deep listening as a key skill for art and architecture, applicable to their work with public agencies, collaborators, communities, and co-workers. Deep Listening is a key skill for art and architectural practice. In this workshop, interdisciplinary artist, writer, and educator Jeff Kasper will facilitate a number of short writing, mapping, active listening, interpersonal dialogue, and group discussion exercises that are designed to bridge the gap between differences and can be adapted for future collaborations. Artists and architects are welcome to join us in a workshop involving listening strategies applicable to their work with public agencies, clients, collaborators, communities, and co-workers.
