Audio Tour: The history of American thoroughbred racing

Come learn about the history of American thoroughbred racing at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame! For Path Through History Weekend, you can enjoy the audio tour of our museum and let the voice of Museum Educator, Matt Reichel, guide you as you learn more about America’s first national pastime. We have galleries that cover everything from the anatomy of a horse to the precious trophies awarded at the end of a race to the developments horse racing went through in the 20th century! You can also enjoy our Hall of Fame signature film: What It Takes: Journey to the Hall of Fame. The audio tour and signature film are available for free with the cost of museum admission all weekend. On Saturday, June 15th, the museum is hosting an Equine Sanctuary Day, so admission is free. Equine Sanctuary Day is a collaborative effort with multiple organizations that are involved in thoroughbred aftercare once a horse’s racing career is over.
