The Wide Wide Sea by Hampton Sides

In February of 1779, James Cook famously met his end on a Hawaiian beach. Hampton Sides’ bestseller details the disturbing behavior and violent moods that gripped the explorer on this final, fatal voyage and wrestles with Cook’s legacy amid the backdrop of colonialism. Participants will get the chance to explore artifacts from the time when Hawaii was a popular whaling port.
