Build Your Own Model Truck!

It's a LEGO experience for all age groups!  Visitors can build their own limited edition miniature of the museum's 1926 International stake body truck.  Creative works by members of the Rochester LEGO Users Group will be on display as well.  It's all happening Sunday, August 16, 2026.  Open to ages 8 and older. Kits of familiar snap-together pieces will be provided, complete with easy, step-by-step instructions. Professional assistance will be on hand to help. These kits are exclusive to the museum and are not available anywhere else! Members of the Rochester LEGO Users Group will be on hand exhibiting the unique builds they've created, sure to inspire young LEGO enthusiasts.

Build sessions are offered at 12:00 and 2:00 and are limited to 10 participants each. Open to ages 8 and older, and youths age 8  - 12 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Reservations are required: www.nymtmuseum.org/truckbuild

Price including the truck kit, participant's museum admission and trolley ride is $25.  Regular admission prices apply for family members or friends who accompany the participants:  $12 adults, $10 seniors 65+ and $6 youths aged 3 - 12.  The exhibit of LEGO builds is free with admission.

The New York Museum of Transportation is open Sundays only, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, late May through October and again at Christmas holiday time. Located at 6393 East River Road in Rush, the museum features exhibits of trolley cars, a steam locomotive, large model railroad and the Midtown Plaza Monorail.  2-mile round trip trolley rides are included with admission.
