  • Castle on the Hill is an original theatre production conceived, written and directed by Elizabeth Mozer. The NYS Inebriate Asylum in Binghamton opened its doors in 1864, as a revolutionary health care facility. Nicknamed the 'castle' for it's beautiful gothic revival architecture by Isaac Perry, Binghamton State Hospital 's doors are closed more than 150 years later but still bursting with stories. Mozer has created an original production of soulful tales from inside the walls of the 'Castle on the Hill', inspired by patients, their families and the staff of the former Binghamton State Hospital. All are welcome to attend the post-show talkbacks following performances on April 29 and May 4. Performing at 8 p.m. April 27, 28 and May 4; at 2 p.m. april 29 and May 6 in Watters Theater.
