Castorland Ramble

Discover the links between beavers, waterfalls, French explorers, and Baron Steuben's estate map with Patrick Reynolds from the Oneida County History Center. Join the Castorland Ramble, a driving tour on October 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., exploring historical connections across Whitesboro, Fort Schuyler, Rome, Remsen, Boonville, and Lyons Falls. This event is organized by the Oneida County History Center and the Tug Hill Commission to illuminate the North Country's settlement history. The tour, inspired by The Castorland Journal, explores northern Oneida and Lewis Counties starting at 10:00 a.m. Participants will use their own vehicles and a GPS map to visit historic sites, including the Black River area, Constable Hall, and the Steuben Memorial State Historic Site.
