Cheese & Wine 101


Join us for an evening of delving into the time-honored pairing of cheese and wine! Led by WSET-certified chef, this class and guided tasting will showcase six cheeses spanning various styles, paired with six wines. Our goal is to leave our attendees feeling empowered to confidently navigate cheese counters and wine lists alike. (And to have a little fun, of course!) Cheese lovers of all stripes—from cheese rookies to seasoned aficionados—are gratefully welcomed! This is a 90 minute course for guests 21+ over, and we ask that pups stay at home. About the instructor: Alicia Ekeler (unknowingly) began her career in hospitality in 2003 as a server at an Outback Steakhouse, an experience she insists was more formative than it sounds. Transitioning from the art gallery curation world in 2009, she graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 2011 and completed the Advanced Certification at the Wine & Spirits Education Trust in New York City by 2016. Following stints in various hospitality environments and roles, she settled on the North Fork, captivated by both the wine region and the quality of life it offered. Alicia Ekeler has been with Lieb Cellars since the Cutchogue tasting room opened its doors in 2012 and eagerly anticipates engaging in further educational endeavors with our guests.
