Fall Foliage: Identifying Native Trees in the Preserve


Join naturalist, John McShane, for a tree identification walk around Swan Lake. Discuss some key skills on how to identify the native trees that occupy the Preserve and learn how and why the leaves change color in the fall. John taught a "Tree Identification" course at The New York Botanical Garden for many years and worked as a naturalist for several nature preserves in Westchester. Suggested for ages 10+. Meet in the Visitor’s Center courtyard and bring water to drink. Leashed dogs welcome. Rain date: October 31st. Cost: $3 + Eventbrite fees. Maximum: 15 people.
