Join a 45-minute guided tour of the 1815 Main House with a knowledgeable Museum Guide to learn about the artist and early environmentalist Thomas Cole (1801-1848) and see the special exhibition "Women Reframe American Landscape: Susie Barstow & Her Circle / Contemporary Practices" on view in the New Studio, Main House, Old Studio, and outside. "Women Reframe American Landscape" reinserts the accomplished 19th-century American artist Susie Barstow (1836-1923) into the history of the Hudson River School of landscape painting and presents work by contemporary artists who expand and challenge how we think about “land” and “landscape” today.
