Hear Me Roar - Women's Voices from Suffragist to Dramatist

  • Details
  • 2017 marks the 100th Anniversary of the women's suffrage movement in New York State. To celebrate the voices of women and to commemorate those who sacrificed for them to be heard, we have selected a summer season of plays written by women, expressing the diversity and creative power of the female dramatic voice. Our season includes: Murder Ballad (June 15-25), Art (June 29-July 9), Crimes of the Heart (July 13-23), Lucky Stiff (July 27-August 6), Elijah *World Premiere* (August 10-20), and Silent Sky (August 24-September 3).

BVT will also partner with and perform at exciting commemorative events this summer at the National Women's Rights Historical Park in Seneca Falls and the Susan B. Anthony Museum and House in Rochester. These events will include four solo shows written and performed by women, lectures on the history of the women's suffrage movement in our region, and a panel discussion on opportunities and equity for women in the professional theater. "Hear Me Roar" events will take place at three partner locations. Complete details are available on our website.
