"Hike Through the History of Harriet" Walking Tours

This fall through October 30, 2021, Harriet Tubman National Historical Park rangers will be providing "Hike Through the History of Harriet" walking tours on Fridays and Saturdays at 10 a.m.  Meet your ranger at the Harriet Tubman statue in the courtyard of the Equal Rights Heritage Center, 25 South Street, Auburn. Come hear about Tubman's 50 years in freedom in Auburn and the people she knew as friends and compatriots in the struggle for abolition, women's suffrage, and equal rights. Stops include South Street Area Historic District, Seward Park, Fort Hill Cemetery, Thompson Memorial AME Zion Church on Parker Street, and more. These tours are free, run two hours, and cover two miles. Some walking surfaces are uneven and elevated. Comfortable walking shoes and water are recommended. Bottled drinks and snacks are available for purchase in the Taste NY Market inside the Equal Rights Heritage Center/Auburn NY Visitor Center. Tours will be weather dependent.
