The exhibition explores Native American culture in Putnam County from the pre-contact period through the present day. Key themes for the exhibition will include Lenape history and cultural heritage, Wappingers in Putnam County, and Chief Daniel Nimham and the Wappinger Fight for their Homelands. In addition to sharing Lenape stories—past and present—the exhibition will feature important Native American artifacts and replicas including stone tools, stone points, 19th century bead works, pottery shards, and a dugout canoe.
