Explore painting with gouache during this introductory workshop lead by local, seasoned artist Beth Drucker.
Beth will provide a basic introduction to the materials and methods of working in gouache, or "opaque watercolors". Develop skills in color mixing, mark making, texturizing and more. All materials are provided and students will leave with a good insight into what they'll need to continue working with gouache at home.
*Students will be working with Windsor & Newton Designers Gouache.
This is an introductory class. No experience necessary.
About Beth Drucker:
Ms. Drucker had been an Adjunct Professor of Fashion Design at Nassau Community College for 17 years. She has been an Instructor for The Nassau County Department of Continuing Education as well. Ms. Drucker has taught as an Adjunct Professor at SUNY F.I.T., Parsons The New School for Design, The Metropolitan Institute for Design, and (BOCES) The Long Island HS for the Arts. She has taught workshops at The Art League of Long Island, The Village Artist, Ripe Art Gallery, Gallery North, and Art and Soul Studio. She teaches Watercolor and Acrylic Painting, Fashion Drawing, Rendering, Styling and Marketing. Ms. Drucker teaches and Lectures on “The Art of Felting” and Embellishment, Guilding, Fabric Painting, Beading, Embroidery, and Appliqué, etc. at various Venues in and around the NY area.
Ms. Drucker’s Illustrations and Designs have been published in The New York Times, Travel Magazine of Ct., Viva Magazine, WWD, New York Magazine, House Magazine, Gucci International, Entrepreneur Magazine, and was featured in Belle Armoire Magazine several times. She was also a featured Artisan in Long Island’s Newsday in the Article “Women Artists of Long Island.” Ms. Drucker has been featured on VHI, ABC TV, CBS TV, FIOS’ “My Long Island” TV, The Chicago Sun Times, as well as several online publications including “Living Felt”. She has written articles for ET weekly magazine. She has completed a Collection called “American Denim” spanning pieces from 1968 through 2016.
Ms. Drucker is currently working as a full-Time painter and instructor.
