A native of Dobbs Ferry, NY, JSWISS owes his musical upbringing to A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots and Nas as much as to Soulive, Jamiroquai and Raphael Saadiq. JSWISS stands out amongst other hip-hop artists for his masterful wordplay and delivery matched with potent messages, and for being an emcee with the ability to comfortably collaborate on stage and record with many of the top live musicians on the scene, such as Marcus Machado, Brady Watt, Maurice "Mobetta" Brown, and Daru Jones. It's no wonder why legendary emcee/producer Erick Sermon declared JSWISS is "what hip-hop needs" after seeing him rock a stage for the first time, or why he's the first hip-hop artist ever invited to perform at the landmark New York Botanical Garden.
While a steady stream of singles and music videos have kept fans full and drawn new ones from around the globe, it's been more than two years since the release of JSWISS' latest project, the No Music EP, which left critics such as The Source Magazine saying, “The listenability of his new music, especially how he successfully draws influence from a variety of genres, is also helping to connect him to a widespread audience, with fans of R&B, hip hop, soul, pop and rock all able to find something to like in JSWISS."
Now JSWISS is finally giving the world what its been waiting for as he debuts his next album live at the legendary Blue Note Jazz Club in advance of its yet-to-be announced release date. Expect an infectious energy, powerful lyrics and the chance to be the first to experience history.
