Juneteenth Celebration

Honor the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States at Historic Richmond Town. Learn about the experience of enslaved people on Staten Island and New York before statewide abolition in 1827 through demonstrations of hearth cooking and historic trades. In addition, living historians representing U.S. Colored Troops of the Civil War era will present firearm demonstrations and an encampment.
