Juneteenth Celebration

Celebrate Juneteenth in the Garden with a free afternoon of community, culture, and family fun. Enjoy performances, artmaking, and picnicking on the Great Lawn with complimentary hand-rolled ice cream, courtesy of Only Rare NYC!   

Jamel Gaines Creative Outlet returns with a moving performance, including new pieces that highlight the legacy of the Black experience in America and the resilience of the human spirit. Then take to the dance floor for an engaging workshop led by performer and instructor Theara Ward. The afternoon concludes with lively performances by students from local Bronx Public Schools who participate in the JGCO Residency Program. All ages are welcome.

Picnicking permitted all afternoon on our Great Lawn. Bring your own or purchase specialty menu items from our Café, including kids meal options.
