Kehila Kedosha Janina Tours

Experience Kehila Kedosha Janina, the only Greek Romaniote synagogue in the Western Hemisphere. Learn about the history and traditions of Romaniote Jews, who date back over 2,000 years in Greece, and marvel at this nearly 100-year-old active synagogue building that was restored to its original beauty from 1927. The synagogue also houses a museum on the history of Greek Jews and stands as a testament to the Jewish immigrant history of the Lower East Side, especially families who immigrated from Greece, Turkey, and the Balkans. Guided tours will be led by community members from the synagogue.
