Kenwood Uncovered

heart heart heart
Details

When the Oneida Community dissolved in 1881, many former members transitioned from shared lives in the Mansion House to building private homes in the new "Kenwood" neighborhood. As executives of the expanding Oneida Ltd. Silverware Company grew the business, they commissioned outstanding architects to design homes in the most avant-garde styles of the late 19th and 20th centuries. This outdoor walking tour reveals the personal stories of the silver executives and the master builders who shaped the landscape of Kenwood. Discover the faces, the facades, and the enduring legacy of the people who transformed a radical community into a global industry—and the elegant homes they left behind. This tour will be outdoors, so be sure to plan for the weather and wear comfortable shoes!
